Author Guidelines

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

  • File Format: The manuscript must be submitted exclusively in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Manuscript Length: The total length of the manuscript must not exceed 15 pages, including all tables, figures, and references.

  • Language: Manuscripts can be written in either properly structured academic Indonesian or English.

  • Abstract & Keywords: Every manuscript must include an Abstract and Keywords in both Indonesian and English, with a word count ranging between 150–250 words.

  • Anonymization Requirement: Authors must upload an anonymized version of the manuscript file to support the Double-Blind Review process (ensuring no author names, institutional affiliations, emails, or identifying metadata are present within the document). Complete author profiles must only be input into the OJS metadata fields during submission.

  • Citation and Reference Style: Citations and the reference list must strictly adhere to the APA Style 7th Edition. Authors are highly required to utilize reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • Author Fees (APCs): The Article Submission Fee is IDR 0 (Free). The Article Processing Charge (APC) is IDR 200,000, which is billed solely upon the formal acceptance of the manuscript for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submitted manuscripts must meet the following baseline requirements before they can be processed by the Editor:

  • Originality: The manuscript represents original scholarly work, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration, review, or evaluation by any other journal.

  • File Format: The submitted manuscript file must be prepared and saved exclusively in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Template Compliance & Length: The formatting, structure, and layout of the main manuscript fully adhere to the official JAREKOM Manuscript Template, with a strict maximum length of 15 pages.

  • Anonymized File Requirement: Authors commit to uploading an fully anonymized version of the manuscript file to support the journal's Double-Blind Review policy (ensuring no author names, institutional affiliations, emails, or identifying markers are embedded within the text).

  • References & Citations: In-text citations and the reference list have been strictly formatted in compliance with the APA Style 7th Edition using standard reference management software (Mendeley/Zotero), and must include active URL or DOI links wherever available.

Copyright Notice

Authors submitting manuscripts to JAREKOM: Jurnal Jaringan dan Rekayasa Komputer must agree to the following copyright terms prior to the finalization of their submission:

  • Copyright Transfer: The copyright of the accepted and officially published manuscript is fully retained by JAREKOM: Jurnal Jaringan dan Rekayasa Komputer (under the auspices of Universitas Teknologi Muhammadiyah Jakarta).

  • Publishing Rights: The journal holds the exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in various formats (both printed and electronic/digital).

  • Licensing Provisions: All articles published by JAREKOM are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license permits external parties to:

    • Share — Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;

    • Adapt — Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

  • Mandatory Terms: Users must provide appropriate attribution (credit), include a link to the license, and if the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the resulting contributions must be distributed under the exact same license as the original.

  • Author Warranty: Authors guarantee that the submitted manuscript is an original scholarly work, does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any other party, and all listed authors have read and approved this copyright transfer statement.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the administrative and scholarly publishing purposes of JAREKOM: Jurnal Jaringan dan Rekayasa Komputer. This data will not be made available for any other purpose or shared with any third party.

Your privacy is paramount to us. Our data protection policy encompasses the following provisions:

  • Data Collection: We collect personal information (such as names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs) when you register an account, submit a manuscript, or communicate with the editorial team.

  • Information Utilization: Collected data is used solely for the peer-review workflow, editorial correspondence, article publication (author names and affiliations will be published alongside the issued article), and dispatching journal updates.

  • Data Security and Storage: We implement technical and administrative security standards to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or breach.

  • User Rights: Users retain the right to request access to, rectification of, or deletion of their personal data from our systems, provided it does not compromise the strict integrity and permanent record of the officially published scholarly archive.
