Author Guidelines

Before submitting a manuscript to JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar, authors must ensure compliance with all the following guidelines:

  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Manuscript Length: The total length of the manuscript must not exceed 15 pages, including tables, figures, and references.

  • Language: Manuscripts can be written in proper academic Indonesian or English.

  • Abstract & Keywords: Every manuscript must include an Abstract and Keywords in both languages (Indonesian and English) with a length of 150–250 words.

  • Mandatory File Submissions: Authors must upload two versions of the manuscript: one full version following the original template (including author identities) and one anonymous version for the Double-Blind Review (without author names/identities).

  • Citation and Reference Style: In-text citations and the reference list must strictly adhere to the APA Style 7th Edition. Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • Author Fees (APC): The Article Submission Fee is IDR 0 (Free). The Article Processing Charge (APC) is IDR 200,000, which is only charged after the manuscript has been officially accepted for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements before being processed by the Editor:

  • Originality: The submission has not been previously published, nor is it currently under consideration or review by another journal.

  • File Format: The submission file is strictly in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  • Template Compliance & Length: The formatting and layout of the main manuscript fully adhere to the JELAWAT Manuscript Template, with a total length not exceeding 15 pages.

  • Completeness of Two Mandatory Files: The author commits to uploading two versions of the manuscript in the next step: the full manuscript according to the template and the anonymous manuscript for the Double-Blind Review.

  • Citations & References: In-text citations and the reference list comply with the APA Style 7th Edition using Mendeley/Zotero software, with active URLs/DOIs provided where available.

Copyright Notice

Authors submitting a manuscript to JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar must agree to the following copyright terms before their submission is complete:

  1. Transfer of Copyright: Copyright of accepted and officially published manuscripts is held entirely by JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar (under the auspices of Universitas Teknologi Muhammadiyah Jakarta).

  2. Publication Rights: The journal holds the exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in various formats (both print and electronic/digital).

  3. Licensing Terms: All articles published by JELAWAT are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. This license permits others to:

    • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

    • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

    • Additional Terms: Others must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and if the material is remixed or transformed, the contributions must be distributed under the same license as the original.

  4. Author Warranty: Authors warrant that the submitted manuscript is an original work, does not infringe upon the copyright of any third party, and all listed authors have agreed to this copyright transfer.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the administrative and scholarly publication purposes of JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar. This data will not be made available for any other purpose or shared with any third party.

Your privacy is paramount to us. Our data protection policy encompasses the following:

  • Data Collection: We collect personal information (such as name, institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID iD) when you register an account, submit a manuscript, or communicate with the editorial team.

  • Information Usage: Data is used for the peer-review process, editorial correspondence, article publication (author names and affiliations will be published alongside the published paper), and sending journal update notifications.
