Plagiarism Policy
JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar holds a strong commitment to scientific originality and integrity. All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
1. Screening Procedure
Plagiarism screening is strictly conducted using Turnitin software. Manuscripts exhibiting a similarity index exceeding 20% will be returned to the authors for revision or summarily rejected before any further processing.
2. Definition of Plagiarism
Acts categorized as plagiarism include, but are not limited to:
- Copying text from other works word-for-word without proper attribution or citation;
- Paraphrasing too closely to the original source structure without acknowledging the citation;
- Using other people's ideas, data, methods, or images without clear permission or attribution;
- Recycling one's own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without appropriate disclosure or citation.
3. Sanctions for Violations
If plagiarism is discovered later or after the manuscript has been published, the Editorial Board reserves the right to officially retract the article from the journal system and notify the authors' affiliated institutions. All handling of misconduct complies strictly with the guidelines and flowcharts of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
