Retraction Policy

JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut and Air Tawar is strongly committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. Under specific circumstances, the Editorial Board reserves the right and obligation to retract published articles, in strict accordance with COPE guidelines.

Reasons for Retraction:

  • Clear evidence of significant plagiarism within the article;
  • Discovery of research data fabrication or falsification;
  • Redundant or duplicate publication without appropriate disclosure;
  • Severe methodological errors that directly compromise the study's main conclusions;
  • Serious breaches of research ethics, including conducting research without required ethical approval;
  • Unidentified, unauthorized, or substantially disputed authorship.

Retraction Procedure:

  • Reports or allegations of misconduct can be submitted by authors, reviewers, readers, or any interested party directly to the Editorial Board;
  • The Editorial Board will conduct an independent and confidential investigation;
  • Authors will be given full opportunity to provide clarification before a final decision is made;
  • If a retraction is approved, the original article will be marked as RETRACTED along with the date and reasons for the retraction, but will remain accessible to maintain the scientific record;
  • The Editorial Board will notify the author's affiliated institution if necessary.

Corrections and Clarifications:

For minor errors that do not alter the core scientific conclusions, the Editorial Board may choose to publish an erratum or corrigendum instead of a full retraction.
