Peer Review Process

JELAWAT: Jurnal Ekonomi Laut dan Air Tawar applies a Double-Blind Peer Review process. This policy ensures that the Author's identity is concealed from the Peer Reviewers, and vice versa, the Reviewers' identities are kept confidential from the Author throughout the entire evaluation process.

The stages of the peer review process in JELAWAT are as follows:

  1. Editorial Screening Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Board. This stage ensures the alignment of the topic with the journal's focus and scope, completeness of the manuscript components, and adherence to the author guidelines (template). Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria or exhibit a high similarity index will be summarily rejected or returned to the author without further review.

  2. Double-Blind Review Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be assigned to at least 2 (two) Peer Reviewers who possess relevant expertise in the respective field of study. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's scientific novelty, methodology, depth of discussion, and relevance of references.

  3. Editorial Decision Based on the recommendations and critical feedback provided by the Peer Reviewers, the Editorial Board will make a final decision regarding the manuscript. The decision will be one of the following:

    • Accept Submission (Accepted without revisions)

    • Revisions Required (Accepted with minor revisions)

    • Resubmit for Review (Accepted with major revisions)

    • Decline Submission (Rejected)

  4. Revision and Finalization Authors are required to revise their manuscript in accordance with the Reviewers' comments and suggestions within the specified deadline. The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated by the editorial team (or sent back to reviewers for major revisions) before being finalized for production and publication.
